About the RNZIH Education Trust

Vision

To promote excellence and opportunities for young people across horticulture through a high-profile competition.

HOW will this be done?

  1. Offer a national competition that is highly regarded and valued by all stakeholders.
  2. Provide a competition that is the next step up from the various sector/industries competitions; that will challenge participants to think and act outside of their comfort zone, encourage innova-tive thinking and foster leadership development.
  3. Create collaboration opportunities for all sectors/industries.
  4. Ensure the competition is well resourced

WHAT does this look like?

  1. Closely engage with all stakeholders through cooperation in the many events & components that make up this competition.
  2. Develop robust components within this competition that will challenge, build knowledge and test each participant and which will be valuable for the development of future leaders.
  3. Collaborate with leaders and academics in the wider horticultural and related fields to maintain and develop a forward looking and challenging competition.
  4. Provide support and guidance for the various sector and/or industry competitions.
  5. Set up an Alumnus for past participants to follow their career developments and encourage fu-ture mentors to be developed form here.
